
Lima ang nasawi at siyam ang nasugatan matapos mahulog ang isang tourist van sa bangin sa Sagada, Mt. Province noong Biyernes ng gabi. Ayon sa pulisya, ang van ay nahulog mula sa 50-meter na taas at lumagpak sa ilog sa bahagi ng Ampawilen, Poblacion.
The victims included three men and two women who were dead on the spot. The nine injured were brought to the Bontoc General Hospital for treatment. The PNP Cordillera said that a flat tire may have caused the accident, but the actual cause is still being investigated. The road was not slippery and was paved, but a metal scratch was found in the area.
According to the driver's wife, she had a dream that an accident had happened the night before her husband left. She said that her husband had been driving that route for a long time, so they were confused about how it happened.
The van is owned by a couple and rented by a travel agency for joiners' tours. The PNP also confirmed that it is registered as a tourist transport service.
