Val Kilmer, the renowned actor who starred in Batman Forever, has died at the age of 65. According to reports, the cause of his death was pneumonia, which was confirmed by his daughter Mercedes Kilmer.
Kilmer, who was born in California and graduated from Juilliard, became one of the most popular actors in Hollywood in the 1990s. He is known for the films Top Gun, Tombstone, The Doors, and of course, Batman Forever. Despite his success, his career was plagued by disagreements with directors and co-stars. He was known for being intense, hot-tempered, and demanding on set.
Kilmer's career began with the 1986 film Top Gun, in which he played Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, opposite Tom Cruise. His performance as Jim Morrison in The Doors (1991) garnered critical acclaim, and he sang for the film himself. He continued to take on more challenging roles, such as his role as Doc Holliday in Tombstone in 1993.
But despite his fame, Kilmer's career also struggled. His performance in Batman Forever (1995) drew the attention of his co-stars, so he decided not to return for the next Batman film. Director Joel Schumacher described Kilmer as "the most psychologically troubled person I've ever worked with."
