Alice Guo, former mayor of Bamban, Tarlac, posted ₱540,000 bail on September 20 for a corruption case. But she was still not released due to another human trafficking case and a contempt order from Congress.
Her trial was delayed after her camp filed a motion to dismiss the case. However, the human trafficking case, which was not bailable, prompted the Branch 167 of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court to transfer her to the Pasig City Women’s Jail.
Before the transfer, he underwent a medical check-up. In prison, he will be held with 40 inmates in a cell that originally had a capacity of 9 people.
According to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), no special treatment will be given to him. Aside from the current cases, he will also face 87 money laundering cases filed by the Department of Justice (DOJ).
Meanwhile, the court in Manila has filed a "quo warranto" petition against him and there is a petition in the Tarlac Regional Trial Court to invalidate his birth certificate. Despite all this, Guo denied the allegations against him.
