A 24-year-old German, Rami Battikh, is struggling to find work after a criminal used his identity in London.
He lost his passport and German ID in 2019. In 2021, a man in the UK used his identity and was jailed for fraud, illegal driving, and using a fake ID. As a result, Battikh has a criminal record even though he was innocent.
He tried to clear his name using passport stamps, DNA, and fingerprints, but the record remains.
Because of this issue, he was unable to get a job and was forced to sell his car. According to the Metropolitan Police, they are currently investigating the case.
