The Bureau of Immigration (BI) discovered that there are foreigners in Mindanao using fake Filipino identity for illegal business and work.
In Digos City, Davao del Sur, March 20, Bangdie Pan, a 50-year-old Chinese national, was arrested for illegally operating a hardware store using fake documents.
In M'lang, North Cotabato, four more Chinese nationals were arrested on March 24 after being discovered working illegally at a chemical plant. One of them, Dezhen Liu, passed off as a Filipino citizen using a fake birth certificate.
According to the BI, fake documents can be used for bad purposes, which is why deportation cases have been filed against the caught foreigners.
