MANILA – One of the alleged suspects in the 2018 high-profile murder of businessman Dominic Sytin has been arrested, police said on Thursday. The suspect has been identified as Edrian Rementilla, who also goes by the names Ryan Rementilla and Oliver Fuentes. He was caught at Buhanginan Hills, Pala-o, Iligan City on March 22, around 10:30 p.m.
According to BGen. Jean Fajardo, Central Luzon police chief, there is an arrest warrant against Rementilla from a Manila court, where his case is non-bailable. He has been in hiding for more than 6 years by moving from one residence to another to evade authorities.
"You can run, but you can never truly hide," ani Fajardo, na nagsabing walang takas ang mga kriminal at ang batas ay laging makakahanap sa kanila kahit gaano pa sila katagal magtago. Sinabi rin niyang ang pag-aresto kay Rementilla ay patunay na laging mananaig ang hustisya sa tamang panahon.
After the arrest, Rementilla was transferred to the Central Luzon police headquarters in Camp Olivas, San Fernando, Pampanga. There he will face arraignment and pre-trial for the charges of murder and frustrated murder.
