A motorcyclist was found dead after falling into a large sinkhole in Seoul, South Korea.
The sinkhole, measuring 65 feet wide and 65 feet deep, opened at an intersection in Myeongil-dong on Monday afternoon. The rescue team recovered the body of the man in his 30s before noon on Tuesday, according to Kim Chang Seob, an emergency officer.
He was seen still wearing his helmet and boots, along with his motorcycle and cellphone.
Because of the large amount of water, soil, and debris, it took nearly 18 hours before he was found. rescuers used excavators, shovels, and other equipment to dig.
A woman in a van who went through the sinkhole only suffered minor injuries.
Investigations are still ongoing into what caused the collapse.
