Tony Yang, older brother of former presidential economic adviser Michael Yang and alleged POGO financier, was taken to the hospital due to suspected tuberculosis, according to Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC).
According to PAOCC spokesperson Winston John Casio, Tony Yang was rushed to St. Luke's Medical Center in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig on Monday after complaining of severe chest pain.
He had allegedly been coughing up blood for three days and even showed his blood-stained handkerchief to a PAOCC officer.
The doctor diagnosed him with suspected tuberculosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). After his discharge, he returned to PAOCC custody while awaiting confirmatory test results.
Tony Yang was also known by the names Yang Jian Xin and Antonio Lim. He was apprehended at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport on September 2024 as an undesirable alien after landing from Cagayan de Oro City.
Meanwhile, PAOCC is isolating six foreign detainees with influenza and respiratory infections at their custodial facility in Pasay.
