The National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) reminded people to always check the meat they buy after discovering a pile of expired meat in Bulacan.
The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on March 12 seized P600 million worth of expired meat from a cold storage in Meycauayan.
The NBI suspects that meat is being reprocessed to be sold in malls as siomai, hotdogs, and other processed foods.
The company's legal counsel denied the allegations.
