Three people died in a fire that broke out in a residential area on R.A. Reyes St., Tondo, Manila on Thursday afternoon, March 20.
According to the Manila Fire District, the fire started on the second floor of a house. They are still investigating the exact cause of the fire.
Among the dead were two senior citizen couples and their 45-year-old son. Four others were injured — three fire volunteers and one civilian.
The fire reached second alarm, affecting eight houses made of light materials. With the help of more than 35 firetrucks, it was extinguished around 3 p.m.
The estimated cost of damage caused by the fire is P800,000. About 18 families or 54 individuals were affected by the incident.
