
Former President Rodrigo Duterte will appear before the International Criminal Court (ICC) on March 14, 9 p.m. Philippine time.
He will appear before Pre-Trial Chamber I, where his identity will be checked and he will be informed of the chargesagainst him, as well as his rightsunder the Rome Statute.
Duterte is suspected of involvement in the murder which is considered a crime against humanity that allegedly occurred from November 1, 2011 to March 16, 2019
Duterte is accompanied by Salvador Medialdea as legal counsel.
Duterte was arrested on March 11 and taken to Villamor Air Base after arriving from Hong Kong.



The hearing will be watched on the ICC website with a 30-minute delay in English and French.
This will be followed by a confirmation of charges hearing to decide whether there is enough evidence for trial.
