
Five Chinese nationals were arrested after a Chinese woman was allegedly kidnapped from a condominium in Pasay City early Wednesday morning.
In the incident, a motorcycle rider was killed after being hit by the vehicle of the suspects who were trying to flee from the authorities.
According to Col. Joselito De Sesto, Pasay Police chief, the suspects allegedly invited the victim to a drink at a condominium. Upon arriving at the scene, the victim was held hostage and forced to call his friend to demand a P500,000 ransom.
The victim's friend immediately reported to the police, so the entrapment operationwas quickly carried out.
Entrapment Operation and Escape of Suspects
During the operation, the 32-year-old victim was rescued and a 30-year-old suspect was caught carrying a .38 caliber gun.
Meanwhile, two companions of the suspects who were riding in a car attempted to flee but were hit by a motorcycle rider along Coral Way.
The rider was immediately taken to the hospital but was dead on arrival. Police caught the fleeing suspects near the scene of the collision.
Further Operations and Drug Recovery
In the follow-up operation, two more suspects, aged 27 and 36, were arrested. Recovered from them were 152.4 grams of shabu worth P761,000, and another caliber .38 gun.
According to De Sesto, the victim has a previous case, and two of the suspects have also been previously imprisoned. He added that some of the suspects were allegedly involved in the sale of illegal drugs.
The suspects are now facing charges of kidnapping for ransom, illegal possession of firearms, violation of the Omnibus Election Code, Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
