According to the video taken by a concerned citizen, the child can be seen crying non-stop while the suspect is carrying him. Later, the video shows the man punching the child.
We also see in the CCTV footage that the suspect even threw the child inside a tricycle.
During the follow-up operation, the suspect was caught at his house in Bgy. 107, Tondo.
According to the investigation by the Moriones Tondo Police Station, the incident allegedly started with a fight between a husband and wife. Out of anger, the suspect allegedly hit his son.
The suspect admitted that he was drinking when the incident occurred.
“It was just a slap on the butt, but I was so annoyed that I even slapped my face,” the suspect said. “Sorry, sonI won't do it again.”
The child who suffered facial bruises is now in the care of his aunt.
According to the child's aunt:
“It hurts me. He's still young, he's not guilty. You should love him and take care of him, you shouldn't hurt him.”
The suspect, who is now detained at the Moriones Tondo Police Station, will be charged with violating R.A. 7610 or the Child Abuse Law. He is also scheduled to undergo a drug test.
