
Four people died after several houses burned down in Marikina and Tondo, Manila yesterday.
In Marikina, firefighters found the remains of two women aged 18 and 23 and a man aged 55 after extinguishing the fire 8:44 a.m.
Three people, including a 4-year-old child, were treated for first-degree burns and abrasions.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire started in a house in Barangay Concepcion Uno past 8 a.m.
8 houses were damaged, and 13 families or 80 people were affected.
The investigation into the cause of the fire, which caused P100,000 worth of damage, is ongoing.
Mayor Marcelino Teodoro tasked the city social welfare to help those affected, who are temporarily staying at the evacuation site.
18 firetrucks and 4 ambulances responded.
In Tondo, Manila, an 83-year-old woman died after being trapped in a burning house.
His remains were found after a mopping-up operation by firefighters.
Eight families were displaced, according to the BFP.
