The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has repatriated 98 Chinese nationals after they were caught working in an illegal POGO.
According to BI, the group left on a chartered flight of Philippine Airlines bound for Xi'an, China, this Tuesday evening from NAIA Terminal 1.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said 91 of them were among the 450 people arrested on January 8 at a commercial building in Parañaque City. The other seven are from the BI detention facility in Bicutan, Taguig.
Viado added that the Chinese Embassy itself arranged the chartered flight as part of their assistance to expedite the deportation of those involved in illegal POGO operations.
In addition, ten Vietnamese nationals were also deported on the same day at NAIA Terminal 1.
Since January, BI has arrested more than 500 foreigners in separate operations in Parañaque, Cavite, and Pasay City for illegal POGO jobs. Of this number, 226 have been repatriated since January 1 this year.
