
A newborn baby has died in Paris after it was thrown from a hotel window by its 18-year-old American mother, according to French investigators.
According to the report, the woman threw the baby from the second floor of a hotel in the 20th arrondissement of Paris. The baby was found in front of the hotel, wrapped in cloth and with the umbilical cord still attached.
Authorities responded immediately and took the baby to Robert Debre Hospital, but he died at around 7:45 a.m. on Monday, February 24.
The mother, an American student, reportedly gave birth inside the hotel before dumping the baby. He was arrested and is currently in the hospital to undergo treatment.
According to French officials, an investigation into the murder has been launched. Paris Match reported that the woman was with a group of young Americans who were traveling to Europe for a study trip.
