Thirteen candidates, mostly from the administration, have a chance to win the Senate election if it is held this month, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.
Based on the survey conducted by SWS from January 17 to 20, commissioned by Stratbase Group, eight of the leading candidates were supported by President Marcos.
ACT-CIS party-list Rep. is still leading the list. Erwin Tulfo who got support from 45% of those who answered the survey.
Following him are former Senate President Vicente Sotto III (38%), reelectionists Sen. Lito Lapid and Sen. Bong Go (both with 37%), former Sen. Panfilo Lacson (35%), media personality Ben Tulfo (34%), Sen. Pia Cayetano and former Sen. Manny Pacquiao (both with 33%), outgoing Makati Mayor Abby Binay (31%), and Sen. Ronald dela Rosa (30%).
Equally in the last two spots are Sen. Bong Revilla, TV host Willie Revillame, and former Sen. Francis Pangilinan, who all have 29% support.
Of these 13 candidates, five are not part of the Alliansa para Bagong Pilipinas administration. These include Go and Dela Rosa who are running under former President Rodrigo Duterte's PDP-Laban, while Ben Tulfo and Revillame are independents.
Meanwhile, Pangilinan, who entered the "winning circle" of the SWS survey for the first time, is running under the Liberal Party.
The SWS survey had 1,800 respondents and a margin of error of 2.31%.
