The mayor of Pandi, Bulacan, and two other people were arrested on Tuesday in connection with a rape complaint in Caloocan City.
The suspects were identified as Mayor Enrico Roque, 51; Municipal Councilor JonJon Roxas, 48; and Roel Raymundo, 52. They were arrested at a resort in Santisimo Street, Pandi, around 1 p.m., according to Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin, director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), in his Viber message.

The court did not recommend bail for the accused, who are scheduled to stand trial.
Aberin declined to provide further details about the case, including information about the alleged victim.
“This operation is a strong reminder that no one is above the law. Our promise is that the NCRPO will pursue justice without fear or bias, ensuring everyone's accountability," according to the police official's statement.
Roque has yet to make a statement about his arrest.
In a report by ABS-CBN News, it was said in an affidavit that a woman accused the suspects of abusing her in Caloocan City on April 6, 2019, according to Lt. Col. Alain Licdan, chief of the Northern Police District Special Operations Unit.
The report also said that the suspects filed a motion to quash against the warrant, calling the allegations against them "politically motivated."
The suspects were taken to the NPD custodial facility.
