Future leaders should be guided by faith," said President Marcos. In his speech at the 49th National Prayer Breakfast in Malacañang, he emphasized the importance of integrity, vision, and unity in leadership.
According to Marcos, faith serves as a "light for the future" that guides leaders on their path. "It will provide strength amidst doubt and direct ambition towards a goal greater than oneself," the President said.
He compared leadership without faith to a ship without a compass, lacking a clear direction. "True leadership, which transforms people's lives for the better, is rooted in wisdom, faith, and God," he added.
Marcos also encouraged leaders to return to the responsibility of serving with faith. He mentioned that decisions should be made carefully and guided by prayer, and that every action should be filled with love, compassion, and humility.
Let us pass on to the next generation a culture of leadership with integrity, long-term vision, and unity," he said.
The President also emphasized the power of prayer in fostering unity and addressing challenges. He said that division causes people to forget their identity and purpose to serve the nation. "In times of rapid change, collective introspection is more important," he added.
