A cloud cluster over the Pacific Ocean has formed as a low-pressure area (LPA), according to state weather bureau PAGASA. The LPA is located approximately 2,040 kilometers east of Eastern Visayas as of 3 a.m. this Friday.
According to PAGASA, the LPA is not expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) or become a typhoon within the next 24 hours.
However, Zamboanga Peninsula, Soccsksargen, Bangsamoro, Davao Oriental, Davao Occidental, and Davao del Sur will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), a band of clouds that can cause rain.
The Visayas, Palawan, and the rest of Mindanao will also have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain or thunderstorms due to the ITCZ. Meanwhile, Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with scattered rain due to easterlies, which are warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
For Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, localized thunderstorms are possible, according to PAGASA.
