The upcoming 2025 Philippine general elections will have more than 18,000 positions available, from senators to local officials. Here are some important dates, policies, and campaign guidelines, including new regulations regarding artificial intelligence.
Election Day is scheduled for May 12, 2025, where 18,271 national and local positions will be contested. This includes 82 governors, 82 vice-governors, and 792 provincial board members, as well as 149 mayors, 149 vice-mayors, and 1,682 city councilors.
Political parties will host conventions to nominate their candidates from September 1 to 28, 2024. Major alliances such as PFP, Lakas-CMD, NUP, NPC, and NP are expected to announce their senatorial candidates on September 15, 2024.
If you haven't registered yet, be sure to do so before September 30, 2024, as this is the deadline for local and overseas voters, as well as for updating registration details. Candidates must submit their Certificates of Candidacy (COC) and Certificates of Nomination and Acceptance (CONA) from October 1 to 8, 2024. A tentative list of candidates will be released on October 29, 2024, and on November 8, 2024, is the last day to request ballot changes.
