The Bureau of Immigration (BI) has arrested a Chinese who was posing as a Filipino while in the country. He was caught in Pasig City after an operation conducted by the BI, in collaboration with the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).
The foreigner was identified as Lu Tianqu, 32 years old, and was arrested after the BI received intelligence from the AFP that he was posing as a Filipino in his transactions. He allegedly did this not just once, but several times while he was in the country.
According to the statements, Lu Tianqu uses a Philippine passport and has a Philippine driver's license registered in the name of a Filipino. He is also reported to be the owner of a financial holdings company with 47 subsidiaries and 97 real estate properties.

Because of this, government intelligence sources consider him a potential threat to national security. For now, Lu Tianqu will remain at the BI facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig, awaiting possible deportation.
