The Le family was one of the families that fell victim to a horrific incident at the Lapu Lapu Festival on April 26, 2025, in Vancouver, BC. It was supposed to be a fun event for the community, but everything changed when a 30-year-old man used his SUV as a weapon and drove through the busy street.
Richard Le (47), Linh Hoang (30), and Katie Le (5) died instantly or shortly after in hospital. Andy Le, the sole survivor, only survived because he decided to stay home to finish homework instead of joining his family at the event.
Richard Le is a devoted father, badminton and tennis coach, and real estate professional. He devoted his time and energy to teaching sportsmanship and the value of teamwork to young people. Linh, Richard's wife and Andy's mother, is known for her kindness and gentle character. Katie, the youngest victim, is about to graduate from kindergarten. She is full of energy and joy. They all leave behind Andy, who is now 16 years old and supported by their extended family.
In light of this tragedy, the goal of the GoFundMe campaign is to raise funds for funeral expenses of Richard, Linh, and Katie and to provide financial support for Andy for his college education. The generosity and support of the community has brought light to this dark time.
