Two decomposing bodies were found at the boundary of San Mateo and Antipolo in Rizal on Friday. According to Alberto Zeller Jr., chief of the Barangay Police Safety Office, a concerned citizen spotted the bodies between Barangay Silangan and Barangay Cupang. The victims are aged 52 and 37.
The body was found in a remote area, a forested area near a ravine and bamboo grove. The barangay said the area was far from homes and difficult to reach. The barangay and police immediately went to the area to retrieve the bodies.
According to PSSG Genesis Almasco of the San Mateo Municipal Police Station, the victims, a tricycle driver and his passenger, have been identified. Police investigations and operations are ongoing to determine the motive for the crime and catch those responsible.
