McLaren has successfully completed sub-zero testing of its upcoming W1 hypercar, cranking up its 1,257 hp hybrid V8 engine in the Arctic Circle. This testing focused on improving the W1's chassis, traction control, torque vectoring, and electronic stability systems in extremely cold and slippery conditions.
The W1 with its MHP-V8 engine and high-voltage battery has undergone rigorous stress tests to ensure durability and performance even in extreme cold. McLaren engineers have also focused on optimizing the gearbox and battery systems to succeed even in freezing temperatures.
