A post by a student living in Anonas, Quezon City is now going viral after he shared his experience of being robbed while "riding-in-tandem." According to Thomas Jayson, while walking home from Katipunan Station, he decided to walk to save on fare. When he was near his house, two men riding a motorcycle suddenly appeared and pointed guns at him. They took his bag and cellphone.
To keep him from screaming, one of the men cursed at him. As he fled, he was hit in the head with a gun and fell. As a result, his windshield was broken and he couldn't get the motorcycle's license plate number. "I just walked to save money, but it turned into a nightmare," Thomas said.
As he ran home and called for help, the motorcycle and the white van parked on the corner disappeared. He said to not forget to be careful and not to force yourself to walk at night especially when there are such dangers.
For Thomas, this experience taught him a valuable lesson. "Don't try to fight if you know they have weapons. Don't skimp on the fare, it's still better to commute than walk."
