According to Deezer, 18% of the songs uploaded to their platform are created by AI. There are over 20,000 AI-generated tracks uploaded every day, almost double the number in recent months. According to Aurelien Herault, Deezer's innovation chief, the growth of AI-generated content continues and there is no sign of it stopping.
To help its 9.7 million subscribers, Deezer launched a detection tool in January, which helps filter out AI-generated songs from its algorithmic recommendations. AI music tools like Suno and Udio are facing legal suits from major music labels like Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music, alleging that the AI is using their copyrighted works without permission.
There are artists such as Billie Eilish, Nicki Minaj, and Stevie Wonder who have warned against using AI in music production that it could affect artistic creation and reduce the importance of human artists. Today, issues surrounding AI continue to explode not only in music but also in Hollywood and filmmaking.
