A woman died and four were injured after they were run over by an SUV in Guadalupe Nuevo, Makati on Monday afternoon.
According to the Makati Traffic Police, the SUV was parked in front of a pawnshop and left without a driver. Only the mother of the vehicle was inside.
A security guard approached the vehicle to ask it to leave. The guard volunteered to drive the SUV, but when he released the handbrake, the vehicle suddenly moved on its own and ran into people on the sidewalk.
The guard was immediately arrested, while the mother of the car owner said that she did not consent to moving the car.
