Malacañang announced that work in all government offices will be half-day tomorrow, April 16, 2025, to allow employees to travel home to the provinces this Holy Week.
According to Memorandum Circular No. 81 signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, government employees will work from 8 a.m. to 12 noon, and after that no more classes.
Agencies may use flexible work setup or work-from-home arrangement to make it more convenient for employees. However, agencies with essential functions such as health services, disaster response, and basic services will still continue to operate.
For private companies, it is up to their employers to decide whether or not to suspend work.
