President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. called Russian vlogger Vitaly Zdorovetskiy "crazy" after watching his videos insulting Filipinos. According to Marcos, "He's not a Filipino, can I curse him?" he posted on his social media.
Zdorovetskiy, considered an "undesirable alien," faced criminal charges for allegedly abusing security guards and stealing an industrial fan at a mall in Taguig on March 31. In addition, the public was outraged by the vlogger's vulgar remarks against a Filipino surfing instructor in Boracay.
Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said Zdorovetskiy will not be deported, but will face charges and be held accountable under Philippine law. Remulla also noted that vloggers, whether local or foreign, have a responsibility in creating content and that this is not a license to insult or bully others.
The investigation into Zdorovetskiy's colleague, the cameraman with whom he was involved in the incident, is ongoing.
