The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) announced that all 44 airports in the Philippines are on heightened alert this Holy Week 2025. A 20% increase in passengers is expected, so security and service preparations are in full swing. At NAIA (Ninoy Aquino International Airport), medical tents will be set up and security forces including K9 dogs will be patrolling to ensure everyone's safety.
PITX Expects Over 2.5M Passengers
At PITX (Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange), over 2.5 million people are expected to travel this Holy Week—up by 700,000 compared to last year. According to PITX Senior Officer Kolyn Calbasa, passengers have been flocking since Wednesday. The Bicol Region still has the most trips. Another surge in passengers is also expected on April 21–23, when people return to Manila for school and work.
Road, Bus, and Boat Safety
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) also issued “Oplan Semana Santa 2025” for road safety. Enforcers will be deployed on highways, bus terminals, airports, and seaports. The Department of Transportation has advised shipping operators to follow the anti-overloading policy or their licenses will be canceled.
