A buy-bust operation by PDEA in Barangay San Antonio, Parañaque City ended in a shootout on Wednesday afternoon, around 5 PM. One of the suspected drug pushers was killed while four PDEA agents were injured and brought to the hospital.
The operation confiscated 4.2 kilos of shabu with an estimated street value of P28.56 million. According to the report, the operatives posed as buyers to meet with the suspects identified as Lala, Allan, Binny, and Sady.
While the transaction was taking place, Sady suddenly pulled out a .45-caliber gun after noticing that the person he was talking to was a police officer. This led to a gunfight in which Sady was killed. The three other suspects were immediately arrested.
Apart from the drugs, the suspects' cellphones, IDs, and drug paraphernalia were also confiscated. A drug trafficking case is being prepared against them.
Meanwhile, a suspected syndicate member was arrested in Barangay Damayang Lagi, Quezon City after being caught with 7 grams of shabu worth P47,600. The suspect was identified as Richard Gestopa, 55 years old, and has reportedly been under surveillance for a long time for drug trafficking.
