A 28-year-old pregnant woman was brutally murdered by her own live-in partner in Barangay 61, Zone 5, Tondo, Manila early Tuesday morning. According to police, the woman was 5 months pregnant when her body was found in a trash dump around 2:30 a.m.
CCTV footage shows a tricycle stopped on Juan Luna Street. The driver may have been just throwing away trash, but the video shows him carrying the victim's body. He left her lifeless and with 4–5 stab wounds on her body.
According to Police Captain Dennis Turla, the woman was dead when the suspect dropped her off. They even tried to take her to the hospital, but she and the baby in her womb were dead on arrival. One of the motives being considered is jealousy, as the suspect suspected the woman of having another man.
The 45-year-old suspect confessed to the crime and said he is not remorseful. He only apologized to his daughter, but has no patience with the victim and the men she allegedly had a relationship with.
The suspect was arrested in Baliwag, Bulacan during a police operation. It turns out that he was previously imprisoned for the Recto hostage-taking two months ago. He will be charged with murder and is now in the custody of the Manila Police District.
