Twenty (20) Filipino seafarers are currently under investigation in South Korea after two tons of cocaine were discovered on board a Norwegian-flagged vessel that passed through Mexico, Ecuador, Panama, and China before arriving in South Korea.
According to the Korea Coast Guard, the drugs were hidden in a secret compartment of the ship and packed in 56 sacks weighing 30 to 40 kilograms each. Authorities have claimed that this is the largest drug bust in the country's history, and is estimated to be worth one trillion won (about P39.3 billion).
