PITX or Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange is expected to be flooded with about 2.5 million passengers from April 9 to April 23, as many Filipinos return to their provinces for Holy Week and Araw ng Kagitingan.
April 9, Araw ng Kagitingan, is a regular holiday. Many Filipino Catholics are also expected to return home to observe Semana Santa, so crowds are expected at terminals like PITX.
According to PITX, the number of passengers will gradually increase as Maundy Thursday and Good Friday approach, which are usually the busiest travel days. Many are also expected to return to Metro Manila from April 21 to 23, to resume work and classes.
PITX is working with DOTr, LTFRB, LTO, and MMDA to ensure a safe and smooth ride for everyone. LTFRB will add public utility buses, while MMDA will assist in traffic management around PITX.
The PNP will also send personnel to monitor security at the terminal and ensure passengers are safe during the holiday season.
