After launching their global festival tour, The Marías have given their fans some new music. The band announced that they would be releasing a new single "Back to Me", but they surprised them by releasing it alongside another track called "Nothing New".
According to the band, "Nothing New" was written by them a few years ago after they finished the album Submarine. They called it a B-side song from the Submarine era, so it's still part of the world of that album.
Meanwhile, "Back to Me" was written a few months after "Nothing New." As the band jammed in the studio, they found new sounds using synths and chords. The vocalist immediately entered the vocal booth, and the melody and lyrics of the song came out so quickly, they felt like the song wrote itself. After it was finished, they felt like it was the beginning of a new era after Submarine.
The band popularized this song as "introduction to a new world" and hinted that they had a new sound to offer their fans.
Now, you can stream the new single “Back to Me / Nothing New” on Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital streaming platforms (DSPs).
