On Friday night, April 4, 2025, a 22-year-old man was arrested in a buy-bust operation by the PNP in Batasan Hills, Quezon City. More than P400,000 worth of shabu was confiscated from the suspect. He was caught in an alley after selling P12,000 worth of shabu to a poseur buyer.
Recovered from the suspect were 60 grams of shabu, a gun with ammunition, cellphone, buy-bust money, and other items. According to the PNP, the suspect's usual patrons are drivers and residents from Batasan Hills, Commonwealth, and nearby barangays.
Police Captain Glenn Gonzales, Deputy Station Commander of the Batasan Police, said the suspect's transactions were large because he usually sold less than five grams to customers. Based on their investigation, the suspect is a group leader involved in the sale of illegal drugs in Batasan Hills and Commonwealth.
According to Gonzales, the suspect was also imprisoned in 2021 and 2023 for cases of holdup and involvement in illegal drugs. Although he admitted to using drugs, he denied being the leader of the group. "Just for the gang, I don't have a job right now," the suspect said.
Now, the suspect is in the custody of the Batasan Police Station, and he will face charges for violations of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act, and Omnibus Election Code.
