Two men got into a heated argument that led to a fight on Sumulong Highway in Antipolo, Rizal on Thursday. In a video captured by a netizen, a rider can be seen pulling the driver of an e-trike out of the vehicle and pushing him against a wall before they clashed.
According to Henessy Solomon, a witness, “I was about to go to work, and then traffic was coming down Fatima. The e-trike was about to leave but the motor got stuck. Suddenly, the rider got off and punched the driver of the e-trike.”
In the video, another rider approached to stop the fight. Fortunately, someone tried to intervene, even though the situation was already tense.
Solomon said he is worried about the series of road rage incidents in the area. “It's scary because we might suddenly be caught in a crime, especially if we're just traveling properly,” he added.
According to PLtCol. Ryan Manongdo of the Antipolo Police, those involved did not pursue a formal complaint because they had already made peace. But the police still reminded to slow down your anger especially on the road: “Don't let the heat of the weather get you down.”
