A 12-year-old boy is in the hospital after being hit by a falling tree while walking home from school on Friday.
According to the Boscawen Police Department, Kyle Murray was walking home from the school bus stop when strong winds hit a spruce tree, knocking it down, and it fell on him.
Kyle was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to Boston Children’s Hospital due to his critical condition. There he was placed in a medically-induced coma for his recovery.
With the help of Hannah Littlefield, a GoFundMe was set up for Kyle and his family, stating that Kyle had two small brain bleeds, swelling of the brain, a ruptured spleen, broken ribs, a broken pelvis, and severed nerves in the pelvis. He also had bleeding in his bladder, a broken heel, and fluid in his abdomen.
Despite the ordeal, Kyle's mother, Danielle Murray, said Kyle underwent pelvic surgery on Monday. The next day, Kyle's breathing tube was removed. "He's getting hugs and kisses from me. I can't explain how happy that feels," Danielle said.
