Damian Lillard of the Milwaukee Bucks will be out for an extended period of time after being diagnosed with a blood clot in his right calf. As a result, he will need to take blood-thinning medication to stabilize his condition. According to Bucks GM Jon Horst, Lillard's health is their priority and he will go through a strict process to ensure his safe return. Fortunately, it was caught early, so recovery was faster.
Currently, the Milwaukee Bucks are in 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a 40-31 record. But if Lillard is out for a long time, it will be a big blow to their playoff hopes. This season, Lillard is averaging nearly 25 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 7.1 assists and his tandem with Giannis Antetokounmpo is strong in the offense.
This isn't the first time an NBA player has had a blood clot. Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs has also been sidelined since being diagnosed in February.
