Good news for minimum wage earners and housekeepers in the Bicol Region and Zamboanga Peninsula—the higher wages have been approved!
Wage Increase in Bicol
According to DOLE, the minimum wage in Bicol will increase from P395 to P435 in two tranches—April 5 and December 1, 2025. 100,414 workers will benefit from this.
housekeepers will have a P1,000 increase in salary, so their monthly salary will be P6,000 starting April 5.
Wage Increase in Zamboanga Peninsula
In the Zamboanga Peninsula, the salary of housemaids will increase by P900 starting April 3.
Chartered cities and first-class municipalities: P5,500/month
Other municipalities: P5,000/month
There are 18,984 housemaids who will benefit from this.
According to DOLE, the wage hike is for fairer wages and a better relationship between productivity and income.
