In Tarlac, authorities confiscated more than 16 SIM-based text blasters used in text blasting and scams. A 28-year-old suspect was arrested by the Philippine National Police-Anti-Cybercrime Group on Burgos Street, Barangay Poblacion Norte, Paniqui town. These devices, also called IMSI catchers, pretend to be legitimate cell towers to capture mobile phone information such as IMSI numbers, as well as track and intercept text messages, calls, and data.
