Starting March 24, MRT-3 extended its evening service by one hour on weekdays only. According to DOTr in their Facebook post, they will also add trains during rush hours to make the journey faster and more convenient for passengers. Many commuters are happy with this new change because it will make it easier to get home and go to work or class.
Weekdays:
Southbound: until 10:53 p.m.
Northbound: until 11:32 p.m.
Weekends:
Southbound: until 9:52 p.m.
Northbound: until 10:32 p.m.
This extension is a result of a request by DOTr Sec. Vince Dizon to the MRT-3 management to improve service to commuters. It is also said that the trip will be more convenient because of the additional trains during peak hours, so there will be fewer vehicles to be congested.
Many are hoping that this update will make the daily commute more comfortable and smooth, and that it will help reduce traffic and congestion on the roads. This simple improvement will be helpful for commuters in a hurry as well as those who regularly travel in the city.
