Personnel of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) seized an estimated P272 million worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation at Rizal Cement Village, Brgy. Pantok, Binangonan, Rizal on Wednesday.
According to Atty. Joseph Frederick Calulut, PDEA spokesperson, an estimated 40 kilos of shabu were seized.
A suspect identified as "Ronald", who is allegedly a shabu wholesaler in Rizal and Metro Manila, was arrested in the operation.
The operation recovered 40 foil packs labeled "168 Freeze-dried Durien" containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be shabu.
According to PDEA, based on intelligence reports, the illegal drugs are believed to have originated from Myanmar and may have been brought into the country through backdoor entries at seaports.
