Alexandra "Alex" Eala, 2022 US Open Junior champion, is aiming for an early victory in her match against Katie Volynets, world No. 73, in the round of 128 of the Miami Open. The match will be held Thursday morning (Manyila time) at Hard Rock Stadium.
Eala, a Globe ambassador and currently No. 140 in the world, will once again shine in the prestigious tournament featuring the top women in tennis.
The three-time Junior Grand Slam champion also wants to bounce back after her early loss in the round of 16 at the W75 Trnava in Slovakia against Valentina Ryser of Switzerland (6-4, 2-6, 2-6).
One of Eala's biggest wins was against Lesia Tsurenko of Ukraine, who was world No. 41 in 2024.
