Soldiers and police confiscated six guns and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during an anti-terror operation in Ampatuan, Maguindanao del Sur on March 17.
According to Major Gen. Donald Gumiran of the 6th Infantry Division, weapons were discovered in a hideout in Barangay Kapinpilan where 17 terrorists related to the Dawlah Islamiya and Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters.
According to Moro leaders in the area, the suspects surrendered peacefully when they realized they were surrounded by soldiers and police.
