Several brands, including Prada and Dinto, have dropped Kim Soo Hyun after he was embroiled in controversy over his relationship with the late actress Kim Sae Ron. Kim was accused of having an affair with Kim Sae Ron when she was a minor, according to a YouTube expose that cited testimony from the actress's relatives.
According to Goldmedalist, Kim Soo Hyun's agency, the allegation that they had a relationship when Kim Sae Ron was a minor is untrue. The agency added that Kim Soo Hyun had nothing to do with the actress's death. Kim Sae Ron was found dead in her home in February after her career collapsed due to a drunk driving incident in 2022.
Prada confirmed that it had terminated its contract with Kim after a client asked, while Dinto said that it was no longer possible to continue its advertising contract with the actor. According to the report, Kim Sae Ron owes $483,759.50 (PhP27.7 million) to Goldmedalist for damages and penalties resulting from his drunk driving case.
