A rare 1966 Porsche 906 Carrera 6, one of only 65 units ever produced, is now up for sale through RM Sotheby’s. This vehicle, known as chassis 906-115, reflects the golden age of Porsche motorsport engineering.
It was originally owned by Ermanno Spazzapan, an Italian amateur racer and hillclimb specialist. It won the class victory at the 1968 Imola 500 Kilometres and finished third place at the 1967 Circuito del Mugello. It also participated in races across Europe, including Vallelunga, Mugello, and Innsbruck, before ending up in private collections.
The vehicle comes with an original Kardex, an expired FIA Historic Technical Passport, and a detailed report from Porsche expert Jürgen Barth.
Due to its victories in prestigious races such as Daytona, Sebring, Monza, and Le Mans, it is recognized as one of the most successful Porsche endurance racers.
This rare Porsche 906 is also eligible for popular events such as the Tour Auto, Le Mans Classic, Goodwood Revival, and Monterey Historics. For collectors looking for a race-proven vehicle, this is a rare opportunity.
