A police vlogger is now facing sedition charges after he criticized President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and the leadership of the Philippine National Police (PNP) on social media.
According to the report, Patrolman Francis Steve Tallion Fontillas, assigned to the District Personnel Holding and Accounting Section (DPHAS) of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD).
The complaint was filed by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (CIDU-QCPD) at the Quezon City prosecutor's office.
The case is rooted in Fontillas' posts on his Facebook account 'Fonts Stv Vlogs' after the arrest of former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Some of his posts are:
- "I am telling the truth. The war on drugs was not just for the purpose of killing. War on drugs was designed to eliminate criminals to prevent worse killings and murders any those criminal."
- "PRRD - the only president that Filipinos love so much. PBBM - considered president but not respected by the people."
Apart from that, Fontillas allegedly encouraged his fellow police officers to send him messages, but he did not clarify if this was related to Duterte's arrest.
