The showbiz stars are Atasha Muhlach, Jairus Aquino, Gab Lagman, and Hyacinth Callado will star in the Pinoy adaptation of the popular 2017 Thai movie “Bad Genius".
This film is about a top student who sets up a cheating scheme to make money. It became the highest-grossing Thai movie in many Asian countries. Its 2020 series adaptation won many awards such as Best TV Drama Series and Best Screenplay.
Following this, India released their version titled Farrey in 2023, and an American remake in 2024.
This year, Studio Viva will produce “Bad Genius: The Series”, starring Atasha Muhlach under the direction of Derick Cabrido, who was recognized as Star Awards 2024 Movie Director of the Year for the film “Mallari”, and International Film Fantasy Award 2020 Best Director for the film “Clarita”.
Atasha will play Lin, a smart scholarship student at a top private school. To maintain her high grades, she helps her classmates with their exams in exchange for money through a cheating scheme.

- Gab Lagman will play Pat, a wealthy student who is weak in academics but good at money and connections. He will bring in clients for their business.
- Hyacinth will play Pat's girlfriend and Lin's first friend at school. She is also Lin's first client because she wants to join the theater group.
The cast also includes Romnick Sarmenta and Yayo Aguila as Lin's parents, Ruffa Gutierrez as the strict Principal Perez, Irma Adlawan as Bank's mother, and Joko Diaz as father of Pat.
